![]() For me to recreate this in flstudio I would have had to run 16 instances of a synth or I could have sampled each synth into edison. So this amazing synth loop has evolved from an already amazing loop to a just jaw dropping rythmic loop.Īnd with the sp606, I created this bass loop that uses 16 different bass samples in the loop. This does two things, one it creates a new sound and two, keeps it in the bpm you want. What this does is, if you can't really decipher the actual tempo when the sp808 stretches it adds this kind of lfo effect to the sound. I used flstudio to get me close to the actual tempo and then used the sp808 and time stretched it to the tempo I wanted. My plan is to use one sampler for syths and pads and the other for drums ,vocals and fx.Īnd here is whats kool about the sp808, I sampled a synth loop kinda of a pad with a rising sound in it. But as my sample library is building I need to start a way of organizing it all. I have figured out some really kool uses for the sampler such as sampling American idol auditions and youtube stuff, tons of material on there. My buddy is stoked cuz he's getting is recorder back in better shape than when he handed it to me plus I will be able to show him how to use it. The Korg has turned out to have one channel that is broke but have ordered the part to fix it. Korg as always has some sweet effects, I only plan to use the compressor and limiter mostly. Yeah it sure is, I forgotten how much fun it was. So I will be posting the 606 up on Ebay soon. The 606 does have more fx than the 808 and both sport the D Beam. But the 808 is no winner in that department either.Īs loopers they both do well with the 808 having the edge for precision. I also don't like the feel of the pads on the 606. ![]() The 808 has an overall easier interface than the 606. So if you want to use and odd sound fx but want it to loop in bpm its fairly easy to do with the 808. The 808 allows precise editing down to single digits, not only that it tells you that your sample length in BPM. The 16 increment limitation kills it, so the drum ends up with a tick in it. So I was trying to edit the start of a drum hit to its zero crossing and I couldn't do it. To edit a sample in the 606 brings you up to a waveform edit but its smallest increments are is 16. But the 808 blows it out of the water when it comes to precise sampling. Wow I thought for sure I would be packing up the 808 and selling it on Ebay, I had high hopes for the 606, it has usb, it can be used as audio interface with xp, it has a great sample chop function.
